What do we do?
We bring surgery, technology and knowledge to places with limited access to specialized medical care.
At the Urointec Foundation we work to provide quality urological and surgical care in African countries with limited resources, especially in Cameroon and Mauritania.
Our missions take teams of surgeons, urologists, anesthesiologists, nurses and technicians to African hospitals, where we collaborate with local professionals to care for patients, share knowledge and strengthen hospitals from within.
An audiovisual team also joins each mission, documenting and giving visibility to this collective work, helping to raise awareness and mobilize new support so that this work can continue.
In addition, one of the objectives of the Urointec Foundation is to rethink the traditional model of medical missions. After having lived intense and emotionally demanding experiences in the field, we want to promote a more humane, sustainable and conscious form of cooperation, we want to promote a more humane, sustainable and conscious form of cooperation.
We want each mission to be effective, but also respectful of personal and cultural rhythms, promoting the well-being of the team and a real connection with the local environment. We believe that only in this way can these experiences be repeated over time and generate a lasting impact.
Our action is developed through three complementary axes:
